Man, 28, arrested after girl stabbed to demise in Droylsden

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide after a lady was stabbed to demise in Greater Manchester.

Police had been known as to Edge Lane in Droylsden round noon on Friday the place they discovered a 51-year-old girl had been stabbed. She died on the scene.

Greater Manchester Police stated the suspect was arrested on Friday night and continues to be in custody.

Chief Superintendent Phil Davies, district commander for Tameside, stated the investigation was in its “early stages” and detectives are “keeping an open mind”.

“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victim as well as with the community who have been deeply affected by this incident,” he added.

“We are determined to find answers and bring the person responsible to justice.

“I attraction to anybody who noticed or heard something to return forwards and when you’ve got any data that might help our investigation – regardless of how small it might appear – please share it with the police.”
