POLL: Does Liz Truss deserve a resignation honours listing?

Former Prime Minister Liz Truss is reportedly planning to award knighthoods and honours to as much as 12 of her allies regardless of her premiership lasting simply 49 days.

The listing of nominations is about to incorporate shut supporters who helped together with her management bid and former aides, as reported by The Sun on Sunday.

It was reported earlier this yr that Ms Truss intends to award to Brexit campaigner Matthew Elliott, Tory donor Jon Moynihan, long-term aide Ruth Porter and think-tanker Mark Littlewood.

One Whitehall insider informed the publication: “We all know that former Prime Ministers are entitled to resignation honours lists – and that is fair enough.

“But Liz is just doling out gongs to her mates who helped to mastermind her leadership bid, rather than the people who’ve spent a lifetime running her constituency office or something. It takes the p***.”
