Surbiton: Man arrested after two stabbed at lodge and storage in southwest London

A person has been arrested on suspicion of tried homicide after two individuals had been stabbed in southwest London.

Both victims had been rushed to hospital after the incident in Surbiton at about 1.45pm on Sunday.

One individual is believed to have been assaulted on the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Portsmouth Road and one other was attacked at a BMW storage subsequent door, Surrey Police stated.

“While we appreciate that this may be extremely concerning, we would like to reassure you that we believe this was an isolated incident,” they stated.

“An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of the incident and remains ongoing.”

Mark Knight, 41, who lives in Long Ditton, Surbiton, stated that he noticed somebody in handcuffs.

“There was another guy that came out with a bandage around his head and his bicep. They put him in an ambulance,” he stated.

Another resident, Fraser Howie, 36, who lives in Portsmouth Road, stated he witnessed commotion from his upstairs window.

“[I saw] lots of police cars,” he stated. “There was one car sitting in the middle of the road which was obviously where all the commotion was around.”

The public had been initially warned to keep away from the realm whereas police responded to the incident.

The man who was arrested stays in custody, police stated.
