She said: “We spend about five or six hundred pounds in that shop for food, petrol, all sorts. Not anymore.”

They added that they would go to alternative shops such as Aldi or Sainsbury’s.

Ms Atkinson said she did not understand the reason for the blanket ban, and believes the policy to be ‘ageist’.

Ms Atkinson said: “Ban the kids who are causing trouble by all means, but if a regular adult came in and started a fight, that adult would be banned from the shop and it would be policed.

“I do not know the way they do it, however why ban all the youngsters as an alternative of simply the few who’re inflicting bother? That’s what I do not perceive.”

Mr Atkinson’s father, Andrew added: “It’s disgusting that Morrisons are allowed to teach our town’s young people that it is ok to discriminate against someone because of their age.”
