Fuming mum slams college as youngsters get McDonald’s for attending college

A mum has unleashed a wave of anger at her daughter’s school after she found that they gave anybody with 100% attendance McDonald’s and an inflatable toy.

The mom mentioned it was unfair to kids who couldn’t come to school due to sickness.

Speaking to StokeonTrentLive, the mum mentioned the scheme is being run at St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy, Stoke-on-Trent.

The mom added that she wished to “give a shoutout to all of the children” who missed out.

The mom mentioned: “This is a lovely little school, but if there is one thing that they get wrong every year it is to do a 100 percent attendance award.

“Like most parents, if my children are ill I keep them off school, mainly because they are not well enough to go to school, but also to prevent the spread of the illness within the school.

“This is neither my child’s choice nor fault, so for the life of me I struggle to see why these children are left out of a fun day and left feeling deflated and unworthy simply for being poorly the odd day here and there while children who have been lucky enough to not be ill are rewarded for having good health.

“The 50ft inflatable maze was on the main yard for all children to see and several of the classrooms look out on it.”

The mom added that her kids had by no means been late for school they usually made in time even throughout inclement climate.

She mentioned: “My children have never been late for school in the whole time they have been there and have only ever been off due to illness.

“We even make it in every time it snows, but none of that dedication is rewarded or even mentioned.

“I know that it may seem petty of me because my children haven’t been awarded this treat – and, I won’t lie, I am gutted for them to be missing out.”

The mom mentioned for youngsters who didn’t have an ideal attendance report to overlook out was simply incorrect.

She defined: “But to have something like this rubbed under their noses for something that really can’t be helped just drives me mad.

“If you could be so kind as to let them know that they too are awesome and deserve the world then I would be forever grateful.”
