The Italian said his son deserved to have his father by his side as he grows up and shmpiuld not have to endure the trauma of losing one parent.

“I perceive the profound significance of this, having grown up and not using a father myself,” he added.

Mr Tindiana has been ever present in his son’s life, helping his mum bring him up on a daily basis.

He has launched an online petition, which has already drawn in more than 14,000 signatures and raised over $6,000.

“As a younger boy I lacked a male position mannequin,” he wrote in his petition.

“As a mature grownup I perceive the adverse affect it had on me and what it took to father myself.

“I don’t want my son to unnecessarily experience similar hardship. I want to be here for him.”
