Andy Foster: Two males charged with homicide of 26-year-old who died in suspected ammonia assault in Gateshead

Two males have been charged with the homicide of a 26-year-old man who died in a suspected ammonia assault.

Andy Foster was attacked when he opened the door to a property he was inside in Wrekenton, Gateshead, on 20 August.

Ambulance staff attended the scene at round 11pm and located him in a essential situation and took him to hospital, the place he died shortly afterwards.

Kenneth Fawcett and John Wandless, each 32, have been charged with homicide, Northumbria Police mentioned.

Mr Foster’s household mentioned in an announcement on Friday: “Andy was such a kind and funny boy who was so loved by his family and many friends.

“He was our solely son – in addition to a loving and supportive companion, grandson and cousin – and was significantly shut along with his grandad who was very particular to him. We are completely devastated and heartbroken past phrases that we have now sadly misplaced our boy.

“Andy still had his whole life left ahead of him – and we are struggling to come to terms with the fact that he is no longer here with us.”
