Foo Fighters identify Josh Freese as new drummer following dying of Taylor Hawkins

The Foo Fighters have introduced Josh Freese is the band’s new drummer following the dying of Taylor Hawkins.

The rock band used a livestream, which was previewing their subsequent studio album, to announce the news to followers.

Freese has been performing with the band at tribute live shows to Hawkins as a part of a profession which has additionally seen him play drums for Sting, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer and Guns N’ Roses.

The 50-year-old American, who’s the son of tuba soloist Stan Freese, was unveiled after lead singer Dave Grohl and the remainder of the band teased his identification as a part of their Preparing Music For Concerts livestream.

Following appearances by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee, Freese interrupted proceedings to ask from behind his drum equipment whether or not the band may “just, like, play a song”?

An eight-song set then featured tracks from their eleventh album, But Here We Are, which will likely be launched at the start of June.

Freese’s subsequent efficiency with the Foo Fighters will likely be in New Hampshire on Wednesday to launch a sequence of dates which proceed by to the autumn.

Hawkins, 50, had been touring South America with the remainder of the band when he died in a hotel room within the Colombian capital, Bogota, in March 2022.

Hawkins joined the Foo Fighters in 1997, selecting up the sticks behind former Nirvana drummer Grohl, after beforehand touring with Alanis Morissette.
