Frank Farian: Legendary producer and founding father of Boney M dies, aged 82

Legendary disco producer Frank Farian – founder and mastermind behind the hit Nineteen Seventies band Boney M – has died on the age of 82, in keeping with his household.

The German producer shaped the group in 1976, and was their main author as they recorded a string of disco hits together with Daddy Cool, Rasputin, and a preferred remake of the Christmas tune, Mary’s Boy Child.

He later based the pop duo Milli Vanilli, and labored with music legends together with Meat Loaf and Stevie Wonder.

Farian handed away at his house in Miami, in keeping with a press release launched by his company on behalf of his household on Tuesday.

Liz Mitchell, one of many authentic singers of Boney M, paid tribute to Farian in a put up on Facebook.

“May Frank rest in peace. Our work was blessed and helped the people who had the privilege to hear it,” she wrote.

“We shared and united under a star and rose above and beyond what we dared to expect. I say well done to the work that we did. Rest in peace, Frank Farian.”

Born Franz Reuther in 1941 in Kirn, Germany, Farian began out his music profession as a singer earlier than turning his focus to producing.

Farian initially shaped Boney M as a pseudonym for his personal work in 1974, releasing the dance monitor Baby Do You Want To Bump below the title.

After the tune noticed success in Belgium and the Netherlands, Farian labored to carry collectively a troupe, made up of Mitchell, Maizie Williams, Bobby Farrell, and Marcia Barrett, who would grow to be Boney M.

More success adopted within the late Eighties with the German hip-hop band Milli Vanilli, made up of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus, who had hits together with Girl You Know It’s True.

However, Farian and the group grew to become embroiled in a lip-syncing scandal in 1990 when he confessed the duo had not sung on their data – an admission which later noticed their Grammy Award for finest new artist revoked.

It is estimated that Farian bought over 850 million data and earned 800 gold and platinum certifications throughout his profession.
