Taylor Swift: Singing safety guard ‘fired after asking followers to take images’ at Minneapolis present

A safety guard who went viral after he was filmed singing alongside at a Taylor Swift live performance has claimed he has since been fired by the agency he was working for.

Calvin Denker was seen becoming a member of in with the track Cruel Summer in footage from certainly one of Swift‘s exhibits in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on the finish of June.

However, he has now advised followers on TikTok that he was subsequently fired by BEST, the corporate he was working for.

While the corporate didn’t have an issue together with his singing, bosses had been apparently sad as he had handed notes out to crowd members asking for them to ship him any images or footage that captured him in entrance of the singer whereas she was on stage behind him.

“Long story short, I was fired for it,” Mr Denker advised his followers in a video posted on social media. “My former safety firm mentioned that they’d a rule towards taking images with any of their performers

“Every photo of me from that night was from behind the barricade, like any other photo from a fan would be. I never took my own phone out. And above all else, I made sure that Taylor Swift was safe and all the fans had a good time.”

He completed his message by asking followers to chorus from “sending any hate to this company… I still got to work one of the coolest concerts ever… so that is fantastic. And I hold no grudges against my employer.”

After the footage of Mr Denker went viral, he launched a video explaining why he wished the job and the way he requested followers for images.

It seems his former employer got here throughout this and realised he had damaged their guidelines.

‘I wasn’t allowed to show my again’

“So five years ago, I went to [Swift’s last tour] Reputation with my then girlfriend, now wife, who wasn’t the biggest fan of Taylor Swift at the time, so I kind of had to drag her along,” he mentioned.

“But I got to talk to a lot of the security guards that night and learn about what positions they can work and how they get to go to a lot of these concerts and any of the sporting events in Minneapolis. And that sounded so cool to me.”

Mr Denker mentioned Swift gigs had been at all times the “goal” when he bought the job. “When she announced her Eras tour, I was so excited and I signed up as soon as I possibly could.”

He mentioned he was “amazed” on the primary of Swift’s exhibits in Minneapolis, because the “fans were so loud and Taylor was phenomenal”.

However, he defined: “I wasn’t allowed to turn my back to the crowd and really watch Taylor perform… After night one, I was realising how close Taylor Swift was getting to me so I really wanted to get a photo to document it.

“I handed out these little items of paper that mentioned I wasn’t allowed to have my telephone out but when Taylor Swift comes proper behind me, please take a photograph of me and textual content it to my quantity.

“I handed this out to a couple of people in the front row for night two, and they were really kind and really sweet about it.”
