Travis Scott won’t face legal prices over lethal crowd crush at pageant

The rapper Travis Scott won’t face legal prices over a lethal crowd crush throughout his live performance, a Texas grand jury has determined.

Scott, 32, was performing on the Astroworld music pageant in Houston, Texas, in 2021, when 10 individuals have been killed in a crowd crush.

His lawyer, Kent Schaffer, confirmed {that a} grand jury had determined to not indict the rapper on any legal prices stemming from the occasion.

“He never encouraged people to do anything that resulted in other people being hurt,” Schaffer mentioned, including that the choice is “a great relief”.

Police and federal officers have been investigating whether or not Scott, the live performance promoter Live Nation, and others had adequate security measures in place.

The rapper, whose actual title is Jacques Bermon Webster, has two youngsters with Kylie Jenner. The Kardashians star and Scott officially renamed their son this week, 16 months after his beginning.

Scott had beforehand mentioned he did not know followers have been injured throughout the crush.

“It wasn’t until minutes until the press conference [after the show] until I figured out exactly what happened,” he advised radio star Charlamagne Tha God on his YouTube channel in 2021.

“Even after the show you are just hearing things but I did not know the exact details.

“And even at that second you are like, ‘wait, what?’ People move out, issues occur at live shows, however one thing like that…”
