Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s resignation has not worn out his unwavering help amongst Express.co.uk readers, with greater than half voting for him as their favorite Tory politician in a brand new ballot.

Mr Johnson’s Uxbridge and South Ruislip constituency is one of three seats up for grabs at Thursday’s by-elections which might weaken Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s premiership.

Many readers praised Mr Johnson within the feedback left beneath the accompanying article, with username Abdul_ Jones writing: “He’s famous and well-respected around the globe.”

Another, username sanjayp, stated: “The Conservatives have one proven election winner – Boris Johnson.”

While username pantheon125 remarked: “Boris, no contest.” And username Evie Roberts added: “Team Boris all the way.”

Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt got here in second place, securing 14 % (730 individuals) of the vote.
