Former United States President Donald Trump has confirmed he is not going to be attending the debates to select the subsequent Republican candidate.

The first Republican main debate will happen on August 23. It will see these eager to be the social gathering’s hopeful battle it out in a sequence of debates.

Trump, 77, wrote on social media: “The public knows who I am and what a successful Presidency I had.”

The first Republican debate will happen on August 23 with the second probably going down the next day. At least two extra will then happen within the coming months.

Voting will then start in Iowa on January 15. Polls have constantly proven that Trump, who faces a lot of prison fees, is at present favorite to safe the Republican nomination.

In a submit on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump wrote: “New CBS POLL, just out, has me leading the field by “legendary” numbers.”

In recent months Trump had suggested he would not be taking part in the debates. He has suggested moderates and possible venues could be “hostile” towards him.

Trump, the 45th US President, currently faces four criminal indictments – something he describes as a “political witchhunt”. It means he may have a sequence of courtroom appearances to attend whereas trying to navigate a presidential marketing campaign.
