Keir Starmer pins blame of loss on Sadiq Khan and hints at ULEZ U-turn
Sir Keir Starmer has instantly pinned Labour’s loss within the Uxbridge and South Ruislip by-election on Sadiq Khan’s ULEZ enlargement, sowing disruption inside the social gathering.
Speaking to broadcasters throughout a go to to Shefford within the Mid Bedfordshire constituency, the Labour chief stated: “I don’t think there is any doubt that Ulez was the reason that we lost the election in Uxbridge.
“And I’ve stated we must always replicate on this, together with the mayor [Sadiq Khan]. I’ve spoken to him as you’d count on, and so there can be that reflection.
“But we’re not sitting back, we’re not looking over our shoulder. We’re pressing forward.
“There must be an election, a by-election in Mid Bedfordshire, and so I’m right here speaking to native residents, to people who find themselves now fed up and desire a by-election desperately and need to vote Labour.
“So yes, of course we reflect, but we’re moving forward here because the goal is to get to that general election.”
