Tories spherical on ‘snob’ Carol Vorderman over assault on Johnny Mercer and his spouse
Tories accused Carol Vorderman of being a “snob” after she questioned who would make use of Johnny Mercer and his spouse as they don’t have levels.
The former Countdown presenter has been concerned in a Twitter spat with the Conservative minister’s spouse Felicity Cornelius-Mercer.
In her newest tweet, Vorderman – who left Cambridge University with a third-class diploma in engineering – shared an Electoral Calculus prediction displaying the previous solider is heading in the right direction to lose his Plymouth Moor View seat to Labour on the subsequent common election.
She stated: “Plymouth Moor View predicted Labour win at GE. Gosh, what are arrogant Johnny Mercer and his wife going to do for a joint income of £160,000+ plus enormous expenses?
“Not a level in sight regardless of costly personal training! So who’d make use of them?”

But Vorderman’s feedback sparked fury from the Veterans Minister’s spouse, who is thought for being outspoken on social media, and Tory MPs.
Mrs Cornelius-Mercer, who manages her husband’s workplace, stated: “‘Not a level in sight’. An mental snob because the chosen mouthpiece for the individuals? If you don’t have a level, you aren’t worthy of a job? Not good or in any respect correct in my view.”
Conservative MP Jacob Young branded Vorderman a “horrible little snob”.
He said: “I grew up watching this lady on TV. I used to be good at maths and most well-liked the numbers a part of countdown. A level wasn’t proper for me, so I did an apprenticeship as an alternative. ‘Not a level in sight… so who’d make use of them?’
“What a horrible little snob she has exposed herself to be.”
Marco Longhi, the Tory MP for Dudley North, added: “A person who obviously has bitterness, arrogance and envy in her heart. There’s no amount of plastic surgery or Botox that will cure that.
“Neither Johnny Mercer, and even much less his spouse, deserve this bile.”
Mrs Cornelius-Mercer previously accused “superstar assault canine” Vorderman of “inciting individuals to hate all Tories”.
Speaking on Rachel Johnson’s Difficult Women podcast earlier this month, she stated: “She just drives me up the f***ing wall.
“For me, it’s this idea of these celebrity attack dogs that know nothing about politics.
“I understand everyone has an opinion on politics, but for me, it’s this blanket hatred of, it’s like inciting people to hate all Tories.
“If you dig deeper, there are so many Tory MPs – they’re all very different. There’s a huge range of different types of personalities, different opinions, different views, different principles.
“You can’t blanket hate. This is what Vorderman seems to be doing. She keeps using words like ‘disgusting’.”
Vorderman has been a fierce critic of the Tories on Twitter and was just lately concerned in a row with deputy chairman Lee Anderson.
