Former England batter Bell has been appointed as New Zealand’s assistant coach for the upcoming T20I collection towards England. He will then fill in for Luke Ronchi because the batting coach for the next ODI collection towards England. Ronchi will then return to take cost of the aspect for the three-match ODI collection in Bangladesh in September – New Zealand’s final ODI project earlier than the World Cup – permitting Stead a brief break.
