Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp explains Mohamed Salah has not clarified future
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that Mohamed Salah is but to make clear his future to him because the Egyptian winger continues to be linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad are reportedly determined to land Salah over the approaching days, with the Saudi Pro League’s switch window nonetheless open for enterprise.
Liverpool have been mentioned to have rejected an enormous £150million bid for Salah on deadline day, whereas reviews have steered that Al-Ittihad might quickly return to the desk with a fair greater supply. He shrugged off the hypothesis with a purpose towards Aston Villa on Sunday and Klopp stays adamant that he might be going nowhere for the foreseeable future.
The Reds supervisor defined that though Salah has indirectly informed him that he needs to remain at Liverpool, it will not be mandatory for him to take action as he reveals his dedication on the coaching floor every day.
“He didn’t tell me, but he didn’t have to,” mentioned Klopp. “He speaks with his training and performances and behaviour. We had meetings this week, and the meetings were not about what we did in the past, it was about what we will do in the future.
“Mo was with the gamers’ [leadership] committee and had his moments the place he was speaking and it was nothing like ‘by the way, this is only until next week’ or no matter. He is totally right here.”
It came after Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who opened the scoring against Villa, insisted that Salah wants to stay at Anfield rather than chase a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.
“You know it’s soccer, everyone seems to be speaking,” said Szoboszlai. “We are actually pleased that he has stayed. We are in fact talking between one another however he needs to remain, he needs to be right here and be with us. We are actually pleased, we want individuals within the group like him.”
Klopp was then asked for his thoughts on Szoboszlai’s comments and replied: “If Dom mentioned that, nice. Mo doesn’t have to come back into my workplace and inform me ‘by the way, boss… [I’m not going]’. For me it wasn’t a topic for one second, to be sincere, in addition to the questions [from the outside].”
Salah remains tied down to Liverpool until the summer of 2025 after signing a new long-term contract with the Reds last year. He has already chipped in with four goal contributions in as many Premier League matches this season and will be hoping to maintain his impressive form for as long as possible.
