Tottenham plan on resisting any bids from Al Ittihad for Son Heung-min, according to reports. The South Korea international has emerged as a shock target for the Saudi Pro League side as they look to add to their squad, having already recruited Karim Benzema already. However, it appears they could be about to waste their time with an opening bid of around £51million.

According to ESPN, Al Ittihad have set their sights on signing Son.

They’ve already raided Real Madrid for Benzema, with N’Golo Kante primed to hitch from Chelsea.

And they now need Son to come back to the Middle East as properly, with the Saudi facet prepared to supply a price within the area of £51m to get a deal carried out.

However, the report says Tottenham ‘would not be interested in listening to an approach if a formal bid is made’.

And that means they’re assured of retaining the 30-year-old, who has been a key participant ever since his arrival again in 2015.

“I think I’ve got a few more years to play yet, so I will try to keep scoring more goals,” said the forward.

“I want to go a little bit higher [in the top scorers list], so I will do my best.

“Obviously I’m not really focused to be tied with this goalscoring record, obviously I just want to help the team, but it’s a big honour to be compared with Jermain Defoe, who is a Spurs legend and scored so many goals for Spurs.
