Golf followers tear into Scottish Open protection as emotional second snubbed for advert

Golf followers within the US have been left pissed off by the protection of this 12 months’s Genesis Scottish Open following a poorly timed advert break. American spectators have been compelled to overlook an emotional second for Scottish golfer Bob MacIntyre as he narrowly missed out on a house soil win to Rory McIlroy.

Twitter customers have been fast to agree, with one replying: “The commercials are brutal and a constant interruption. The split screen is especially painful.” Another added: “I gave up on watching TV coverage of golf, and this is part of the reason.”

Following the consequence McIlroy has risen to a world quantity two rating and claimed his first PGA Tour title on Scottish soil. Speaking after the event, he stated: “Really proud. That was such a tough day, especially the back nine.
