Alfie Hewett misses out on maiden Wimbledon crown with wheelchair closing defeat

lfie Hewett missed out on a maiden Wimbledon wheelchair singles title after dropping the ultimate to 17-year-old Tokito Oda.
Hewett completed runner up for the second consecutive yr following a 6-4 6-2 defeat on Court One.
The 25-year-old from Norwich, who gained the doubles with Gordon Reid on Saturday, hit 11 double faults amongst 19 unforced errors towards the Japanese teenager.
He mentioned: “Obviously it’s been an amazing week. I really feel that wheelchair tennis is being put on the map here at Wimbledon.
“Thanks to the All England Club who took a chance on wheelchair tennis and put us on the show courts.
“It didn’t go my way but I’ll be even more motivated to perform next year.”
