Boulter beats Burrage in all-British last to win first WTA title
atie Boulter received her first WTA title after beating fellow Briton Jodie Burrage within the last of the Nottingham Open.
In the primary all-British tour-level last in 46 years, Boulter outplayed her good pal to win 6-3, 6-3.
Boulter, who’s from Leicester and considers Nottingham her residence event, stated: “I dreamed of this moment, to win this tournament, as a little girl when I was four years old.
“Having come here as a fan and now as a player and somehow find a way to win it means more than everything to me.
“I’ve played so many British players, we appreciate an all-British final and what an incredible achievement it is.”
Earlier on Sunday, Andy Murray received the lads’s title on the Nottingham Open to take care of his good Wimbledon build-up.
Per week after victory within the Surbiton Trophy, Murray made it back-to-back wins on grass with a 6-4, 6-4 win over France’s Arthur Cazaux.
