Novak Djokovic compares Holger Rune to himself as Dane fires warning

“Even though he’s really young, I know his game quite well,” he defined. “He’s been on the tour now for last few years playing some great tennis, particularly in the last I would say six to eight months. He’s been really establishing himself as a top player. He’s a top-10 player, deservedly so. He’s been playing some really high-quality tennis.

“He’s one of the hardest workers out there. Nice guy. I get along well with him. On the court obviously we certainly want to win against each other.” And Rune himself has already proven his want to get the victory, as he warned Djokovic that he felt he may beat anybody.

“I believe that I can beat many players on the tour,” the four-time title winner stated after successful his personal last-16 match towards Alexei Popyrin. “I’ve shown that I can beat many guys in the top and winning against Novak helped me a lot because obviously he’s one of the greatest of all time and it’s going to be tough but I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
