Barking canine alert homeowners as fireplace tears via home in Essex

Barking canine alerted the homeowners of a home badly broken by a fireplace in Essex within the early hours.

Crews from stations together with Stansted Airport and Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire, attended the scene in Dunmow Road in Takeley at round 2.40am on Sunday.

Officials mentioned the hearth began in an outbuilding behind the property.

Essex Fire and Rescue shared pictures of the aftermath on Twitter, including: “Crews have extinguished a house fire in Takeley this morning.”

An investigation is now underneath approach into the reason for the hearth.

Station supervisor Terry Maherm mentioned the householders have been alerted to the hearth by their canine. Firefighters additionally managed to save lots of horses in a close-by steady.

“The fire started in an outbuilding at the rear of the property and quickly spread to the roof of the house.”

He added: “Crews worked incredibly hard, particularly due to the limited water supply, and did a fantastic job in saving the property and horses who were in a nearby stable.

“I’d additionally prefer to thank Stansted Airport Fire Service who have been in a position to assist us.”
