‘Lovely’ schoolgir killed in smash as household share tribute

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting demise by harmful driving after a 15-year-old woman was killed in a automobile crash in Cardiff on Monday.

Tributes have been paid to Keely Morgan, who was described as having a “beautiful smile that would light up a room”.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, South Wales Police (SWP) mentioned.

In a joint assertion, {the teenager}’s mom Sian Morgan and step-father Liam Coulthard mentioned they’re “devastated at the sudden loss of Keely”, who will “never be forgotten”.

Keely was hit by a car in Heol Trelai, Caerau, within the west of Cardiff simply after 9.30pm.

Her mom and step-father mentioned in a joint assertion: “Our hearts are broken, and we never imagined anything like this would ever happen to us.

“Keely at all times had such a stupendous smile that will gentle up a room.

“She was sensible, kind and not one person ever had a bad word to say about her.

“In such a short while on this world, she had touched so many individuals and he or she had so many plans which have now been so cruelly taken away.”

They went on to thank people for their support, saying they had been “overwhelmed” with the “outpouring of affection and assist from our neighborhood.”

They added they were “grateful” to “anybody on the scene who tried to assist Keely and to all of the emergency companies who tried their greatest.”

“Rest in peace Keely. You won’t ever be forgotten.”

The 15-year-old’s headteacher also paid tribute, describing her as “an distinctive scholar who beloved faculty” and saying “we’ll all miss her terribly”.

Martin Hulland, headteacher at Cardiff West Community High School, said his students and staff were “completely devastated to study of the tragic passing of Keely Morgan from Year 10”.

The force said the incident involved Keely, who was a pedestrian, and a black Vauxhall Astra.

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident or of either Ms Morgan or the car prior to the collision are being asked to make contact with police quoting reference *140268.

Ms Morgan’s family are understood to be supported by a family liaison officer, and have asked to be allowed to come to terms with their grief in private.

A spokesperson for SWP said: “Our ideas stay with Keely’s household presently.”
