Boy, 5, drowns in pool at Cornwall vacation resort

A five-year-old boy has drowned at a vacation park in Cornwall. 

Robin Caliskan was on vacation along with his household on the Atlantic Reach vacation park in Newquay when he acquired into problem within the swimming pool.

His household, from Plymouth, described Robin as “very cute and clever” and stated he “loved hugs”.

His father Cemal Caliskan instructed Cornwall Live: “He was intelligent and his handwriting, he could write with both hands.”

Mr Caliskal stated Robin adored his six-month-old brother Renas and would “love to put him on his legs and rock him”.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they’re investigating the incident.

A power spokesperson stated on Tuesday: “Police were informed by the ambulance service that a five-year-old boy had drowned in a swimming pool within Atlantic Reach Holiday Park, yesterday afternoon.

“The boy is from the Plymouth space and his subsequent of kin are conscious, the demise is just not being handled as suspicious and a file is to be ready for the coroner.

“Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police along with representatives from Cornwall Council Health and Safety are undertaking enquiries in relation to the circumstances surrounding this death.”

Atlantic Reach stated in a press release: “We do not feel it is appropriate to comment further at this stage, except to say our thoughts are with the family at this time.

“Atlantic Reach is dedicated to supporting our friends and group, in addition to our workforce that supplied fast help.”
