Chaos for holidaymakers as 950 Gatwick Airport staff to strike for eight days

lmost 1,000 staff at Gatwick Airport together with baggage handlers and check-in employees will stage eight days of strikes starting later this month in a dispute over pay, Unite introduced on Friday.
The contemporary industrial motion is about to carry additional chaos to holidaymakers, and comes after finances airline easyJet cancelled around 1,700 flights, primarily to and from Gatwick.
Announcing the contemporary strike on Friday, Unite revealed 950 staff will stroll out for 4 days from Friday, July 28 till Tuesday, August 1.
They will then stage a second four-day walkout from Friday, August 4 till Tuesday, August 8.
The airways affected embody British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair, TUI, Westjet and Wizz.
The hanging staff, who’re members of Unite, are employed by 4 firms: ASC, Menzies Aviation, GGS and DHL Services Ltd.
Unite stated: “Given the scale of the industrial action, disruption, delays and cancellations are inevitable across the airport.”

Research by passenger rights skilled AirHelp discovered a staggering 54.08 per cent of flights from the busy London airport had been cancelled or delayed in June.
