Terror suspect Daniel Khalife has been charged with escaping custody at HMP Wandsworth, the Metropolitan Police has mentioned.

The 21-year-old escaped the London jail on the morning of September 6, sparking a nationwide manhunt that lasted 75 hours.

The seek for the ex-soldier got here to an in depth when a police officer in plain clothes pulled Mr Khalife off his bike on Saturday, September 9, at 10.41am.

Mr Khalife had escaped from HMP Wandsworth on Wednesday final week, having strapped himself below a meals supply van.

An investigation has been launched by the Ministry of Justice into how the 21-year-old was in a position to escape the London Category B jail.
