Daniel Khalife: Investigation into whether or not jail was understaffed when terror suspect escaped

The authorities has formally launched an impartial investigation into how terror suspect Daniel Khalife was in a position to escape from Wandsworth jail.

When he completes his report it is going to be despatched to Mr Chalk and the main civil servant on the MOJ, Antonio Romeo.

The MOJ stated: “Public protection is of the utmost importance and the purpose of the investigation is to identify shortcomings and ensure lessons are learned to help prevent incidents of this nature occurring again in the future.”
