Four deadly cat poisonings in Swindon spark pressing pet security warning

Police have issued an pressing warning to cat house owners after 4 animals have been poisoned to demise within the “last few days”.

Wiltshire Police, which has opened a joint investigation with the RSPCA, warned cat house owners within the Emerald Crescent space of Blunsdon St Andrew in Swindon to maintain an in depth eye on their pets.

PCSO Danielle Hindmarsh stated: “Four cats have died in tragic circumstances, which has been incredibly upsetting for their owners.

“These deaths have taken place in the previous couple of days and we’re working with our companions to unravel it.

“Please relaxation assured that we’re taking these incidents extremely critically and we’re interesting for anybody who has details about what has occurred to come back ahead.

“Cat owners should be vigilant about their animals where possible and consider purchasing GPS collars which are readily available online to monitor the movements of their pets,” officer Hindmarsh stated.

There have been round 11 million owned cats within the UK, in 2022, Cats Protection stated in its annual report into cat possession.

More than one in 4 households (26%), personal a cat, with possession rising amongst younger adults.
