Inmate in crucial situation after HMP Wandsworth stabbing
An inmate has been stabbed at HMP Wandsworth, in the identical week {that a} terror suspect escaped from the jail.
The man is in a crucial situation and was taken to a serious trauma centre by ambulance after emergency companies have been referred to as round 3pm.
An air ambulance was additionally despatched to the scene.
It is known that the incident concerned two prisoners.
Police have stated they have been referred to as at round 3.20pm to stories of an inmate being assaulted on the jail.
They added that no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
A Prison Service spokesperson stated: “Staff swiftly responded to an incident between prisoners at HMP Wandsworth at the moment.
“We have a zero tolerance approach to violence and will always take strong action against those who break these rules.”

A father who was visiting his son contained in the jail stated the stabbing occurred in one of many communal areas.
He advised Sky’s Tom Parmenter: “I saw two ambulances going in and someone said a prisoner has stabbed someone.
“It’s simply one other day at Wandsworth jail – you do fear as a mum or dad.
“It is chaotic right now – even the officers inside all say they need more staff, my son is always calling saying he is on a lockdown meaning they can’t leave their cells at all, not for a shower not for anything.
“It’s unacceptable, sure they should be punished however it’s inhumane.”
The stabbing comes days after Daniel Khalife, a 21-year-old terror suspect, went lacking from the jail on Wednesday.
He was arrested in west London on Saturday after 75 hours on the run and can appear in court tomorrow.
