Ipswich: Spa complicated engulfed by big blaze which began close to swimming pool

An investigation has been launched after an enormous blaze engulfed a spa in Ipswich within the early hours of Friday morning.

A complete of 17 fireplace engines have been referred to as to deal with a hearth on the Riverhills Health Club & Spa in Bramford at round 12.20am.

Dramatic footage present flames ripping via the constructing and destroying the roof as plumes of smoke poured into the sky.

Two firefighters have been pictured standing near a scorching tub as they battled to extinguish the blaze.

A variety of close by roads have been closed as motorists have been warned to keep away from the world.

The roads have now reopened however crews stay on the scene, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service stated.

Providing an replace, incident commander, group supervisor Sally Hammond stated: “We have been referred to as to a severe fireplace at Riverhills Spa at about 12.20am final night time.

“Crews were here very quickly and established that there was a very serious fire that had occurred in the swimming pool area of the building.

The spa has posted an announcement on Facebook that it will likely be closed on Friday.

It stated: “You might have already seen on native news that very sadly there was a big fireplace on the membership in a single day.

“As a result Riverhills will be closed today (Friday 23 June) to all members and guests while we gain access to the building and assess the damage.

“We will of course update you once we have further information but please understand that we currently have no phone systems or internet access on site.

“We are extraordinarily grateful to the work of Suffolk Fire and Rescue and the opposite emergency groups that responded to this incident and introduced the hearth beneath management.”

The spa also thanked customers for their understanding and said it would provide a further update as soon as possible.
