Man ‘livid’ after being pressured to stay in mouldy flat that landlords will not repair

A person who has been pressured to stay in a mouldy, leaking flat for over a 12 months is livid after his landlord responded by sending him a package to type it out himself. Zbigniew Malon, 41, who lives in Baildon, Yorkshire, moved into his new residence with Accent Housing in December 2021, however says his “frustration is growing every day” after being pressured to stay in a flat that has mould-covered partitions and a leaking lavatory.

Mr Malon stated when he requested his landlord to repair the rising mould downside once more earlier this 12 months, he was simply despatched a package to do it by himself. 

His request adopted months of asking for the difficulty to be sorted.

Zbigniew instructed YorkshireLive: “I was offered an apartment in Baildon but told there was a leak in the bathroom and that I would have to hold off on moving for two – three months because they were fixing the problem. But they just replaced the plaster board.

“I moved in right here in December 2021 and after two months the leak began coming again, the wall was black. I reported it right away as a result of the water was coming via the electrical gentle sockets – they took the sockets out and stated they’d repair it however they nonetheless have not.

“Accent Housing keep telling me that because the leak is behind the wall that it’s the manager of the building’s problem – the company name who owns the building is Watsons.
