Nottingham tram stabbing: Man arrested on suspicion of homicide

A person has been stabbed to demise on a tram in Nottingham.

The man, in his 30s, was stabbed close to the Highbury Vale tram cease in Basford, within the north of town.

The incident occurred at round 11.10am on Monday.

Police have arrested a person on suspicion of homicide.

Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable Kate Meynell described the incident as “tragic”.

“We know there were other passengers on board at the time and understand how frightening this must have been for anyone who saw what happened,” she mentioned.

“Our officers were at the scene quickly and detained a suspect. He remains in police custody.”

Police have described the stabbing as an “isolated incident” and that they’re “not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened this morning”.

Paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service additionally attended the incident – alongside the air ambulance.
