Twitter, Virgin Media and EA websites down as a whole lot of outages

Twitter, Virgin Media and EA have seen a whole lot of outages with scores of customers venting their frustration on social media. Outages soared at about 3pm on Tuesday, in accordance with information mining software program.

 

There have been 223 experiences of outages on EA at the moment, in accordance with the Downdetector web site which screens when providers are unavailable.

Virgin Media noticed greater than 2,000 experiences of customers unable to get on-line at about 3pm, Downdetector reveals, whereas there have been 164 outages reported on Twitter.

Virgin Media prospects took to Twitter to complain concerning the service with one commenting: “Please fix your wifi. This is the 3rd time in a month or two that your wifi has died. Looking at down detector, you’ve had a spike of over 1000 reports of outage.”

Another stated: “Virgin media is embarrassing, down again.”

A 3rd requested on Twitter: “Anyone else with Virgin Media Wi-Fi just forever in a battle with it[?]”

A Virgin Media spokesperson stated: “There was a very brief issue lasting just five minutes which impacted some customers, predominantly in the north this afternoon.

“This is already resolved and we apologise for any inconvenience prompted.”

EA and Twitter have been approached for remark.

Virgin Media was named and shamed in April because it appeared on a list of the most complained about broadband suppliers.

It saw 14 complaints per 100,000, according to UK telecoms regulator Ofcom, which published a list of its most up to date figures.

Shell Energy was bottom of the pile by a considerable margin with a score of 27 complaints per 100,000, which was well below the remaining ISPs on the list.

The second lowest was Vodafone which saw 19 complaints per 100,000.
