Two males arrested in reference to loss of life of child in Blackpool

Two males have been arrested in reference to the loss of life of a child in Blackpool.

The child boy was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital in an “unresponsive” state on 27 July, the place he later died, police stated.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide and a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting and permitting the loss of life of a kid and youngster neglect.

Both males have been launched on conditional bail.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police stated officers had been known as to the hospital at 7.15pm on 27 July, however “very sadly, the baby boy was pronounced deceased a short time later”.

He added: “An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the baby boy’s death.

“A Home Office submit mortem examination has taken place.

“The cause of the baby’s death is awaiting further investigation.”
