Lottery winner Michael Carroll that he received’t give any of the £9.7m he received on the National Lottery to his youngsters.

Mr Carroll, 40, revealed that he has chosen to not give any of his winnings to his youngsters as a result of he desires them to "work for what they get".

He was simply 19 when he the National Lottery in November 2002 earlier than spending his tens of millions on drugs and outlandish purchases.

Soon after he was nicknamed the "Lotto Lout" and self-proclaimed himself as “King of the Chavs”.

More than 20 years on from his rise and fall, Mr Carroll mentioned he had no regrets.

Mr Carroll, who now works in a quarry, instructed the Sun that he has stored none of his jackpots for his two daughters and three stepdaughters.

Mr Carroll, who now lives in a one-bedroom flat in Elgin, Scotland, mentioned he didn’t want to put any cash away for his youngsters.

He mentioned: "I don't regret or wish anything. If you live like that you're always thinking 'Why did I do that, why did I do this?' and I don't want to live like that.

"No, I do not want I put some cash away for the children. My children should work for what they get."

Mr Carroll added: “I worked all my life before I won and work hard now. Even when I was at school I used to bunk off and I'd be on the strawberry field with my mum and nan."

Mr Carroll explained that he has had several jobs in recent years including delivering coal and working in a slaughterhouse.

He added: "Any one of my bosses will tell you how hard I graft. I was at Walker's biscuit factory for seven months and when I left there I was at the slaughterhouse for six years until they closed. I rose to the top there and loved it.”

Mr Carroll revealed his present position and mentioned his youngsters weren’t mad at him for spending all the cash.

He defined: "I used to be delivering coal for 2 years and I've been on the quarry for 3 years.

"I'm a yard foreman so I'm operating heavy machinery and stuff. My kids aren't mad at me for spending the money.

"One of them joked with me and mentioned, 'I do know the place you spent all the cash - cocaine and hookers' and I could not consider it. I mentioned 'How are you aware that?!' and she or he mentioned 'Duh, the web'."

Before winning the lottery, Mr Carroll was working as a bin man. In the following years, he went on an extreme spending spree.

11 years after, Mr Carroll was declared bankrupt having spent the money on lavish parties, jewellery, and holidays.

He has claimed that he has never been in trouble. He said: "I have not been arrested in 12 years.

"Since I've been in Scotland I have not been in bother with the police. I've been a law-abiding citizen consider it or not.

"No complaints from neighbours, nothing like that, everybody round right here is sound. All the nonsense is up to now. I'm 40 now, not 19.”
