Andrew Bridgen has alleged that the BBC bosses have successfully "cancelled him", because the outspoken Conservative MP was unexpectedly faraway from BBC's Newsnight program solely hours earlier than his scheduled look.

Mr Bridgen said on Twitter that he was invited to debate the latest declaration by the Government watchdog that HS2 is "undeliverable."

However, he claims that he was cancelled after being requested to look on the present.

Mr Bridgen believes that this occurred as a result of he has been campaigning towards HS2 for a decade, and the latest declaration has vindicated his place.

Mr Bridgen wrote: "After the Gov watchdog declared #HS2 ‘undeliverable ‘I was asked on to BBC Newsnight this evening, I was cancelled a hour ago.

"That’s what occurs if you marketing campaign towards one thing for 10 years and you're proved proper

"Tomorrow I will tweet out some of my many speeches…

The Government's infrastructure inspector has formally declared the HS2 rail project "unachievable" due to substantial delays and expense overruns.

The Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), which answers to the Cabinet Office and the Treasury, thoroughly assessed the designs for the first two phases of the high-speed railway, which would connect London to Birmingham and subsequently to Crewe.

The existing shape of the project, according to the IPA, is not feasible.

This finding is likely to be welcomed by campaigners who have long opposed the proposal, including as conservation groups and local communities impacted by the development.

The project has resulted in substantial damage to big areas of land.
