Like Murray, Tsitsipas confirmed that their US Open spat was effectively and actually behind them and lauded the two-time Wimbledon champion's profession.

"I think it has been settled already long time ago. We had to play Laver Cup together in the same team. I've forgotten about it. He has forgotten about it," he mentioned of their row in Flushing Meadows.

Addressing Murray and the match, he added: "He's someone that I respect. Obviously he's older than me. He has done great things in tennis. I'm looking forward to this match. I hope there's plenty for me to learn.

"Regardless of the result, I really feel like I actually wish to go on the market and provides it a shot and goal for being tremendous sturdy and disciplined in that match as a result of it would require plenty of that. If I'm in there persistent and centered on my objective, I really feel like something is feasible.
