While the city is broadly praised for its unimaginable magnificence, capturing the essence of a basic British seaside city, many vacationers who had visited the world have begun to see Stein's dominance and star energy as extra of a detriment than a bonus.

The city is especially identified for its harbourfront, lined with ice cream outlets, pubs and eating places.

But a number of reviewers mentioned it had develop into far too busy - with one even branding it "Padaluf".

One customer wrote on TripAdvisor: "We found Padstow had descended into Padaluf. The harbour was heaving with drunk party goers and obnoxious teens."

While one other added: "Those wanting to avoid going to Magaluf on May 1 should also avoid Padstow."

But for a lot of, the difficulty was simply how outstanding Rick Stein was throughout the city.

One customer mentioned: "What a shame, have visited before, but this is now so busy it has lost its charm for us. Others felt the same and have renamed it Padstein. Everything is expensive and the shops are too touristy."

A reviewer claimed that "most of the town seems to be owned and run by one person" whereas one other mentioned: "Should be renamed The Town of Rick Stein with all his restaurants and shops."

Mr Stein opened his Seafood Restaurant in 1975, and his enterprise has since expanded to embody 4 eating places, a bistro, a café, a seafood delicatessen, a pâtisserie store, a present store and a cookery college.

His presence within the city even led to him receiving terrorist threats in 2007 from Cornish nationalists in search of to purge Cornwall of the "imperialist" English flag - with Mr Stein's companies high of their record.

Other vacationers visiting the city mentioned it was chock stuffed with vacationers - lots of whom got here accompanied by canine.
