Angus MacNeil has been expelled from the SNP following a fallout with the get together's chief whip.

Mr MacNeil, the MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar - or the Western Isles - was suspended from the party's group in Westminster final month after a reported conflict with Brendan O'Hara.

An investigation then happened into the MP's resolution to not rejoin the get together's Westminster group following his suspension, which lasted per week.

Mr MacNeil beforehand stated his resolution to not rejoin the group was not linked to that incident, and as an alternative criticised the SNP over its independence technique.

He stated on the time that he would solely rejoin following the get together's convention in October if it "is clear that the SNP are pursuing independence".

The get together's conduct committee then met this Thursday to debate his case.

In a tweet about his expulsion, Mr MacNeil used a kangaroo emoji to confer with the conduct committee that made the choice.

"I didn't leave the SNP - the SNP have left me. I wish they were as bothered about independence as they are about me!" he wrote.

The resolution means Mr MacNeil will sit as an impartial MP within the Commons, of which there at the moment are 15 in complete.

On Wednesday, SNP Westminster chief Stephen Flynn was requested about Mr MacNeil on the by-election marketing campaign path in Rutherglen and Hamilton West, the seat made vacant following the successful recall petition against Margaret Ferrier.

He instructed reporters the get together's MPs shouldn't "pick and choose" after they maintain the get together whip.

However, he stated he wouldn't give a "running commentary" on the conduct course of and he "gets on well with Angus".

Mr Flynn stated he and his colleagues needed a "positive outcome" however added this was not at all times doable in politics.

Since his expulsion, Mr MacNeil has been posting essential tweets on social media in regards to the SNP's power-sharing take care of the Green Party, also called the Bute House settlement.
