Pretty a lot everybody concerned with Barbie has a little bit of an obsession with actor Sylvester Stallone.

From Barbie's Oscar-winning costume designer, Jacqueline Durran, to actor Ryan Gosling and director Greta Gerwig, everybody loves the Rocky star.

So, it is no shock there are a number of references to him in the brand new blockbuster, together with within the costumes.

Durran, who labored on Gerwig's 2019 movie, Little Women, instructed Entertainment Weekly that she referenced a number of "archetypal masculine" visuals whereas engaged on Ken's real-world outfits. 

She added that Ken's fake fur coat is "100% inspired" by Stallone.

Durran stated: "Those images were kind of around in the early prep when we were first talking about what Ken would look like. It seemed so extreme and over the top, but also just so brilliant.

Durran wasn't the one particular person on set who beloved Stallone. 

Director Greta Gerwig instructed Uproxx that she and Gosling bonded over their shared love of the actor.

Gerwig stated: "I like all these Rocky motion pictures. I like him rather a lot. So it was a very early factor, really. When Ryan Gosling and I have been texting rather a lot, we sort of each stumbled upon our mutual love of Sly Stallone."

Gerwig added that it "could be such an honor," if Stallone worked on Barbie 2 in some way, either appearing in a cameo or even co-directing.

It's unclear if Gerwig will undertake a Barbie 2. She currently has "zero" plans to make a sequel.

However, if she does take it on it's sure to be a success and feature Stallone references, even if the "actual man" does not signal on to be part of it.
