Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer is to carry talks with the BBC director-general Tim Davie over "deeply concerning" allegations about considered one of its presenters.

The unnamed star is alleged to have paid an adolescent greater than £35,000 for sexually specific photographs.

The presenter allegedly first requested photographs from the youth after they have been aged 17 again in 2020 and has made a sequence of funds over time, in response to The Sun.

In an announcement forward of the assembly, a Department of Culture, Media and Sport spokesperson stated: "As a public service broadcaster in receipt of public funding, senior officials have stressed to the BBC that the allegations must be investigated urgently and sensitively, with the department kept informed.

"The tradition secretary shall be talking to Tim Davie later at present."
