onor Benn claimed a unanimous factors determination win over Rodolfo Orozco on his return to the ring in Florida.
In his first struggle for the reason that lifting of his provisional doping suspension, Benn gained the 10-round struggle 99-91, 99-91, 96-94 on the judges’ scorecards.
"I needed the rounds,” said Benn. “I’ve been through hell and back.
“Britain’s my home, it’s only right I fight back there sooner rather than later.”
Benn failed two Voluntary Anti-Doping Association tests in the build-up to his fight with Chris Eubank Jr last October, testing positive for female fertility drug clomifene.
The 26-year-old insists he is innocent of intentionally doping.
Benn, who had not fought since April 2022 and is now undefeated in 22 bouts, said: “We didn’t want a walk in the park. I needed the rounds after 18 months out.
"He’s a real Mexican, my first Mexican I’ve fought, and we knew he was sturdy. Credit to him, he’s by no means been stopped earlier than and he’s one powerful man and I hope he progresses.
"They are stronger and take photographs extra. I don’t assume there was ring rust, I used to be going by the gears after going by hell.”
