Birmingham Bears have signed West Indies left-armer Dominic Drakes on a short-term contract till the top of the Vitality Blast.

Drakes, whose father Vasbert performed for Warwickshire within the 2000s, will exchange Hasan Ali as considered one of Bears' two abroad gamers, with the Pakistan seamer departing for worldwide responsibility this weekend.

Drakes, 25, has been capped 12 instances in white-ball internationals and loved had a spell in county cricket with Yorkshire final summer season.

"We're really pleased to welcome Dominic to the squad. Dominic loves the big stage and is comfortable taking the ball in the powerplay and high-pressure moments," Warwickshire's Pperformance director, Gavin Larson, mentioned.

Birmingham are prime of the North Group with two video games to play and guaranteed of a spot within the Blast quarter-finals.
