Boris Johnson ally Nigel Adams has mentioned he's standing down as an MP with "immediate effect", triggering one other by-election.

The transfer, which follows the previous prime minister's resignation on Friday, will go away Prime Minister Rishi Sunak going through a 3rd by-election - this time in Mr Adams's Selby and Ainsty constituency.

He beforehand mentioned he would give up on the subsequent common election however has joined Mr Johnson and Nadine Dorries in resigning now.
