A seven-year-old boy has been significantly damage in a brutal canine assault in pub beer backyard. "We are keen to speak to these people so we can take their account of what happened.

"I might urge anybody with data regarding their identification to please come ahead. I might additionally ask the person and lady pictured to please do the appropriate factor and are available ahead.

"I would also like to hear from any witnesses to the incident who have not already spoken to police."

The image the police have launched reveals a pair, of their 40s or 50s, restraining the canine.

The man has brief gray hair and was carrying black-rimmed glasses. The lady had shoulder-length brown hair and seemed to be carrying a darkish cardigan or jumper, over a floral shirt.

The canine, which had brown shaggy fur with white flecks, is regarded as a German Wirehaired Pointing or an Italian Spinone breed.

The assault happened round 5.10pm on Tuesday, May 2.
