Plenty of bus companies had been cancelled after a number of incidents of drivers and transferring buses being attacked on Halloween.

First Bus Wales and West stated one bus in South Wales and one other two in Bristol had been vandalised on Tuesday night.

The firm stated that at the least two incidents concerned "large objects being thrown directly at the driver" however added that no accidents had been reported.

Some companies had been cancelled amid fears extra assaults might happen.

Thousands of kilos of repairs now should be carried out on a variety of buses, based on the corporate.

The firm stated the Llanelli to Swansea service was attacked within the Castle Street space of Loughor, close to Swansea.

In a separate incident, the Port Tennant to Swansea service was reportedly disrupted by an individual wearing a Halloween costume blocking the route of a transferring bus.

Rob Pymm, First Bus Wales and West's industrial director, described the behaviour of a minority as "despicable".

"The images we have seen of our buses from last night speak for themselves; who in their right mind would consider throwing a heavy object at a moving bus, let alone towards the driver, endangering them and everyone on board," he stated.

"Sadly, we had no option but to pull some routes last night, and today our passengers continue to be inconvenienced while the buses are off the road being repaired.

"All we are able to do is apologise and reassure the general public that we are going to resume a standard service as quickly as attainable."

First Bus Wales and West stated it had reported the incidents to the police and was reviewing its on-board CCTV footage.
