"Cabin crew defused the situation before the aircraft departed safely for Stansted following a minor delay."

Last month, video footage confirmed a passenger being hauled off a Ryanair aircraft by British police shortly after touching down after he was caught smoking in the bathroom.

One passenger on the flight described the second the person was shamed over smoking in the bathroom over the general public tackle system on the aircraft.

He instructed the Manchester Evening News: "It was literally about 20 minutes after take-off.

"One of the flight attendants might odor smoke coming from the bathroom. They took all his particulars after which introduced it to the entire aircraft.

"I was really pleased because they'd named and shamed the person. If you're willing to have a smoke and put 180 souls on board lives at risk, then you should be named and shamed."

A Ryanair spokesperson instructed the newspaper: "The crew of this flight from Palma to Manchester called ahead for police assistance after a passenger was found smoking onboard.

“The passenger was removed from the aircraft by local police upon landing at Manchester Airport." No expenses have been issued towards the person.
