London Underground commuters took issues into their very own palms after carriages appeared to fill with smoke.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to indicate commuters on the platform at Clapham Common Underground Station smashing the glass with instruments together with hammers with a purpose to escape and assist different passengers off the service on Friday.
Other clips confirmed panic-stricken travellers forcing their method out of the home windows from contained in the carriages.
A British Transport Police spokesman stated the smoke was brought on by "brake dust which can often be confused with burning" coming from a defective prepare.
London Fire Brigade additionally confirmed there was no fireplace on the prepare.
A spokesperson advised Sky News: "BTP obtained a report of a defective prepare at Clapham Common station shortly earlier than 6pm this night, and we're conscious of a video displaying passengers attempting to go away the prepare.

"There were no reports of any injuries and the incident has now been resolved."
A TfL spokesperson stated: "We're sorry for the misery induced at Clapham Common.
"The London Fire Brigade attended the station and confirmed there was no fire. We are investigating the details of this incident."
