A seasoned Mount Everest climber has turn out to be embroiled in a viral social media spat with a Sherpa who lately saved his life. Social media footage captured Gelje Sherpa carrying Malaysian climber Ravichandran Tharumalingam into the harmful "death zone" of Mount Everest, when oxygen ranges are low and temperatures drop under freezing, for six hours.

On May 18, Tharumalingam was saved by Gelje from sure dying after the courageous man risked his personal life to assist the climber descend the mountain.

Upon his return to Malaysia, he made an appearance on national television in early June, recounting his extraordinary tale of rescue.

However, conspicuously absent from his narrative was any mention of Gelje, the Sherpa who played a pivotal role in saving his life.

He purposefully omitted Gelje, the person who is arguably responsible for saving his life, from his numerous Instagram and Facebook posts detailing his restoration.
